We’re halfway there! This summer, 15 Lakota Native speakers from various communities gathered at Makoche Studios in Bismarck, ND to record 10 episodes of the Berenstain Bears cartoon series, translated into Lakota. The remaining 10 episodes are set to be recorded before the end of the year. Twenty episodes are planned for the translation project, and will be broadcast on public television in South and North Dakota in Fall 2011.
