DAVID S. ROOD |
David Rood, is considered the leading Lakota linguist today. Professor Rood received his Ph.D., from the University of California, Berkeley and has an extensive background on issues related to Lakota linguistics and teaching. He has taught linguistics and Lakota at University of Colorado since 1969. Prof. Rood has published numerous books, articles, and book chapters within Siouan linguistics. He is the well-known originator of the first Lakota language textbook series, Beginning Lakhota, developed with Allan Taylor in 1976. These college-level Lakota textbooks have been the model for all subsequent college-level books, including White Hat.
